Madame X just got Madame X-rated because Madonna has dropped the shocking new album artwork two days ahead of the release.

The 60-year-old shared the portrait of a lady that appears on the new cover, featuring a womans bare breasts with a rose piercing her nipples.

A second Instagram released on Tuesday night, dubbed her Mother of Dragons look, shows Madonna crouching in her dressing room wearing fishnets and leather boots with her legs open.

Aside from getting us all talking about the queen of pop, explicit images are sure to distract fans from reports that she is disappointed by the sales of her Madame X tour, this week.

Its a mess, the insider said. Although the Vogue singer scaled back on her tour venues – trading in stadiums for intimate settings – the numbers have not reflected a difference.

Despite being tiny venues, there are hundreds if not thousands of tickets left for each show.

Representatives for Madonna have been contacted by Metro.co.uk for comment.
