KSRelief takes part in Warsaw Humanitarian Exhibition

WARSAW: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) is participating in the 2019 Warsaw Humanitarian Exhibition (WHE).

A senior KSRelief delegation is being led by its supervisor general, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, in the presence of the Saudi ambassador to Poland, Mohammed bin Hussain Madani. The event is sponsored by Polish President Andrzej Duda.

This years edition aims to discuss international humanitarian and developmental trends, business communitys participation in humanitarian efforts, establish a platform for cooperation between businesspeople and nongovernmental and public institutions, and promote private sector participation in the projects and procurement market. Among the participants are various UN bodies, the EU, the World Bank, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Polish non-governmental organizations.

The WHE is divided into sections including logistics, communications, transportation, medical equipment, medical evacuation products, disease prevention, shelters, water technology systems, reconstruction services, security systems, agriculture, food production, seeds, fertilization systems and crop farming.

Relief activities

On Tuesday, the KSRelief continued its relief activities in flood-hit parts of Yemens Al-Jawf governorate. The center distributed 1,900 food baskets among the displaced families. Around 11,448 people benefited from the aid packages.

In addition to the relief activities initiated in the wake of floods, the center is relentlessly working to provide assistance to the Yemeni people who have been affected by the war in the impoverished country.

During the recently concluded holy month of Ramadan, the center carried out 15 projects to hand out food baskets and iftar meals in 13 Muslim countries at a total cost of $14 million.
