IT may be winter, but so far June is proving to be much warmer than average for the Central West. The region may have already seen its fair share of snow in recent times, but overall June is proving to be warmer than usual with one location recording a mean maximum almost two degrees above average. The median maximum temperature for the first 10 days of June in Oberon was 11.2 degrees, which was 1.7 degrees above the town's long-term average. Bathurst has been 1.3 degrees warmer than average, with a median of 13.9 degrees this month, compared to the June average of 12.6.
