Since 2002, the Isle of Wight Festival has been a yearly occurrence, after first having been held in 1968.

The Isle of Wight Festival was held three years in a row when it first launched, but it was then cancelled after the 1970 event when Parliament added a new act that prevented open-air gatherings of more than 5,000 people overnight.

The festival was then revived in 2002 and it has been held on the island every year since then, including last year which marked the 50th anniversary of the music fest.

Thats not to say that the festival organisers wont be pulling out all the stops this year too, with the likes of Noel Gallaghers High Flying Birds, George Ezra and Biffy Clyro headlining a weekend full of first rate music acts.
