The voice behind Woody, Tom Hanks, says his final scenes in Disney Pixars Toy Story 4 are pretty profound.

Hanks, who has voiced cowboy doll Woody since the first Toy Story film in 1995, has admitted he couldnt face anyone else while he was recording his final moments of the popular animation.

It has been over 20 years since the 62-year-old actor initially played Woody in Pixars first ever feature-length film.

Now he has revealed that even though he tried to avoid any self consciousness while recording his final parts of the fourth Toy Story film, in the end he had to turn away from everyone in the room, look at the wall, and try to ignore the momentous nature of the moment.

Hanks voice will feature in the fourth film of the Toy Story saga alongside other original cast members, Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear and Annie Potts who voices Bo Peep.

Famous names Keanu Reeves, Mel Brooks, Timothy Dalton, and Christina Hendricks will also voice different characters in the film, which will be released in the UK on 21 June.

Speaking at a press conference in Florida, Hanks said: I didnt want to have any self-consciousness for what I knew was going to be the … last few hours I was spending with the movie.

When it came to pass, I felt as though I was on the other side of the river waving to everybody I had left back in the old country. It was pretty profound.

An award-winning actor, Hanks has starred in many successful films including Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, and Philadelphia, but he cannot deny that filming these final Toy Story scenes affected him emotionally.

He explained that his final day was made even more emotional because he has recorded all his lines in the same booth since the original Toy Story.

You drive into the lot, through the same gate, you park in the same spot they had for you, then you go through the same doors, get in your car and you drive back through, he said. And you think, “I have recorded the last moment of the current Toy Story”.

Toy Story 4 is on course to reach the biggest animated box-office opening of all time.
