Spate of thefts lead to police appeal

Nyngan police have appealed to the community to remain vigilant, following a spate of thefts in the area. Nyngan Police Sergeant Tony Wood said there had been a number of thefts in and around the town. "Whilst they appear unrelated, there have been a number of thefts from the theft of tools, the theft of a trailer of visiting show people, theft of a child's bike in Wambiana Street and a break-in at a house in Dandaloo Street," Sergeant Wood said. The sergeant said investigations were underway, but encouraged the community to report crime. "Police are investigating and conducting thorough forensic investigations, where possible using fingerprint and DNA testing," Sergeant Wood said. "Our best asset is the vigilant community who can alert police to any suspicious activity. "Our best results have been a result of eye witnesses." ALSO MAKING NEWS:
