Double wins for the Savages in long weekend of bouts
Margaret River Roller Derby team the Cabernet Savages travelled to Albany last weekend for their long awaited headliner match against the Great Southern Breakers. Team spokesperson Melissa Hillegers said the bout featured in round two of the Boom Skate Tournament, where teams from Perth and regional WA battle it out. "The bout drew a large crowd of supporters of the sport and saw Margaret River Roller Derby League claim victory against the Albany Roller Derby League 185 to 153," she said. The second day of the tournament saw the Savages take home another win of 136 to 130 in a nail biting match against the Dread Pirate Rollers from Bunbury. "It was a fun weekend away and great practice for our team in the lead up to the leagues home bout which will be held in Margaret River on July 27 and 28."
