Cruel teacher gave boy with autism, 11, award for being most annoying student

A teacher has been disciplined after giving an 11 year-old boy with autism an award for being the most annoying male in his class.
The unnamed youngster was given the joke gong at Bailly Prepatory Academy in Gary, Indiana on May 23 during an end-of-year ceremony.
His father Rick Castejon told The Times of Northwest Indiana: We were blindsided. We just werent expecting it.
As a principal or teacher, you should never let this happen to any student.
Castejon and other parents who attended the ceremony were stunned into silence when the boy was given the award.
His son is non-verbal, occasionally rocks back and forth and can become emotional.

The dad did not wish to make a scene, and tried to leave the offending award on a table after lunch.

But the female teacher, who has not been named, rubbed further salt into the wound by jokingly reminding him not to forget the gold plaque.
Castejon received calls about his son from teachers throughout the year, and is now concerned that he may have been further mistreated or neglected.
