If you fancy some frights at the cinema this weekend, then psychological horror movie Ma could be just what youre looking for.
The movie stars Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer as the title character, who becomes a little too involved with a group of fun-seeking high schoolers for comfort.
It could well scare up some business at the box office – but what can we expect from the film and whens it released?

What is Ma about?
The film stars Spencer as the title character, a loner whose real name is Sue Ann – who becomes involved with a group of teenagers who persuade her to buy alcohol for them.
She subsequently invites them to use her basement for their parties and other antics and joins their clique – but things take an unpleasant turn when Ma becomes obsessed with her new friends, as her troubled past also comes to light.
All of which leaves them questioning their hosts intentions, as Mas behaviour becomes increasingly erratic and violent.

The film is the latest production from Blumhouse, who are also the brains behind a string of horror hits including Us, Get Out, Happy Death Day, Split, The Purge and the Insidious series.
Who else is in the movie?
Spencer – best known for her Oscar-winning turn in The Help – is joined in the cast by up-and-coming young actors including Booksmarts Diana Silvers as Maggie, Girl Meets Worlds Corey Fogelmanis as Andy and Scream Queens McKaley Miller as Haley.
Other cast members include Juliette Lewis as Maggies mum Erica, British actor Luke Evans as Andys father Ben, Missi Pyle as Bens girlfriend Mercedes and Oscar winner Allison Janney as Mas colleague Dr Brooks.
