Circus couple starved son, 12, to death but treated other three children very well

A couple who worked at circus promoters starved their 12-year-old son to death while they fed their other three children normally, prosecutors say.

Police were called to a hospital in Bloomington, Indiana on Friday after Eduardo Posso died weighing only fifty pounds.

Authorities say Eduardo died a slow and painful death and at the hands of his father Luis Posso, 32, and stepmother Dayan Median Flores, 25.

Posso and Flores worked as promoters for a circus that traveled the country and were staying in a nearby motel.

When investigators searched the hotel, the found chains, shackles, and a shock collar for dogs, which the believe was used to restrain the boy.

Monroe County Sheriff Brad Swain said told WTHR: I cannot think of, in 30 years, a case like this. Its beyond anything Ive worked.

The couples three other children were perfectly healthy, investigators said. Flores reportedly told police that Posso abused Eduardo because he acted up more than the other kids.

Posso and Flores lived came to the Economy Inn with Eduardo and their their other children, aged nine, five, and two, on May 20 to advertise for the circus that opens in June.

Eduardo was chained to the bathtub in the hotel room as his sibling passed by him every time they used the restroom, police said.

Swain said: Can you realize the horror that they lived in where a sibling is placed in shackles and not fed as well as them? That this was just normal life for them.
