*Warning: Spoilers for Disneys Aladdin below*
Aladdin has been released in cinema after months of teasing, meaning Disney fans have finally seen a glimpse of the rebooted Genie and co. on the big screen.
But, while the main characters are all there – including the magic carpet – the plot has been switched up slightly.
Dont worry, its still the same love story weve loved and adored since the original came out, way back in 1992, but it has been updated for 2019.
And we are living for it, to be honest.
If you cast your minds back to the end of the cartoon version, Princess Jasmines dad – aka the Sultan – changed the laws to let her marry Aladdin.
However, in the new version, he actually makes her the Sultana, and she changes the rules herself.
Speaking about the changes, Naomi Scott – who plays the Princess – revealed she loves the new direction it has taken.

I love the fact that the power is then in in her hands, and that she becomes the Sultana, she said. Shes like, “Well, Im a boss lady, so Ill just change the law!” And shes actively pushing forward her own narrative. I just love that.
Its been 27 years since the original, so a lot has changed and progressed. But Princess Jasmine was literally my favourite princess, because I could see myself in her, and she made me feel empowered.
And I really wanted to keep that feeling, but just update her and modernise her. I think that there was room to really give her more ambition.
Co-star Mena Massoud – who took on the role of title character Aladdin – explained that his own journey changed thanks to Jasmine.
It was one of the ways that we wanted to contemporise this and then make it relevant, he added to Yahoo. So Princess Jasmine is definitely more empowered in this and Aladdins journey now differs a little bit because a part of his journey is helping empower her, and encouraging her to do what she thinks shed be good at.
As well as the two main characters, all eyes have been on Will Smiths portrayal of the Genie in the remake, after he stepped into Robin Williams shoes.
