JAKARTA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) gifted 100 tons to the Indonesian government on Friday as well as 80 tons of dates to Pakistan, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The fruit was handed over in the presence of Saudi Arabias Ambassador to Indonesia Essam Abed Al-Thaqafi, Social Empowerment Director General at the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs Bibin Nizaruddin, a representative from the Saudi Ministry of Finance, embassy staff, and KSReliefs team.
Al-Thaqafi said that the dates shipment was a reflection of the good relations between the two countries.
Nizaruddin thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, saying the dates would be distributed to beneficiaries in different cities.
The gift is part of the Kingdoms programs to help friendly countries and distribute aid to the neediest families in different parts of the world.
KSRelief also delivered 80 tons of dates to the World Food Program (WFP) to be distributed to needy people in Pakistan.
WFP Pakistan Country Director Finbarr Curran signed the delivery memo of the dates shipment at the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad in the presence of the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, and the director of KSRelief in Pakistan, Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Othmani.
Al-Malki said: “This project is a continuation of the support provided by the government of Saudi Arabia to the people of Pakistan under the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
