A recruitment company has been accused of racial discrimination after a job advert said they would prefer white candidates.

US firm Cynet Systems wrote in the job description the candidate would be preferably Caucasian who has a good technical background including knowledge of RPA.

The company promoted the account manager role on numerous employment networks including LinkedIn, Glassdoor and Zip Recruiter.

Cynet Systems has since apologised for the terrible mistake and removed the job listing.

Thousands have taken to Twitter to call out the company, after the advert went viral.

Many social media users said they were confused over the advert, as the companys CEOs Nikhil Budhiraja and Ashwani Mayur, are Indian-American.

Florida-based coder Helena McCabe, who tweeted the listing, wrote: How could you POSSIBLY think thats okay?

Cynet tweeted from its official account saying they truly regretted the actions of the employers involved in the offensive job post, who were sacked immediately.

A statement from CEO Mayur read: We understand why some may have been upset seeing this listing, because we were too.

Uh, hey @cynetjobs – what's with this?
