An unlucky person who bought a $2 million lottery ticket has failed to claim their prize and now the winning ticket is worthless.
A Texas state lottery spokesman said that the ticket was purchased – but the 180-day window to claim the prize closed on on Thursday at 5 pm.
The ticket that matched five of the six winning numbers drawn on October 27 was bought at a Valero Corner Store in College Station, Texas.
Now meaningless, the winning numbers were 8, 12, 13, 19, and 27, with a Powerball number of 4 and a Powerplay number of 3, Texas Lottery said.
Although the clock has expired for the big winner, the deadline may be extended for a period of time for certain “eligible” military personnel, according to state lottery rules, but there has been no information that that rule is being used by the person who bought the ticket.
All unclaimed lottery money returns to state programs that have been authorized by the Texas Legislature.

The October 27 drawing did however make one ticket holder a winner.
