I Am Invincible takes top billing as stellar season continues

I Am Invincible has become Australias highest-priced stallion after the Mitchell brothers, Arthur and Harry, of Yarraman Park announced a $247,500 service fee for the coming breeding season.

The mating includes GST and the decision to raise his covering fee from $192,500 was hardly surprising considering the phenomenal season being enjoyed by the handsome stallion.

I Am Invincible has produced a total of 26 stakes winners since August 1 which includes three winners at the elite level. His total individual winners are 152 from 308 starters and he is second only to Snitzel in the stallions' prizemoney premiership.

Arrowfield decided to keep Snitzels 2019 fee at $220,000 inc GST but the Mitchells felt I Am Invincible deserved the increase and have declared he will be restricted to 170-180 coverings in the 2019 season.

“Hes had a great season and he continues to amaze everyone here at Yarraman Park,” Arthur Mitchell declared.

“Many breeders felt his price would be more than we announced on Thursday, but Harry and I were confident breeders will continue to breed their best mares to “Vinnie “

I Am Invincible began his breeding career in 2010 at just $11,000 but his first crop to perform on the track were speed runners from moderate mares and his progeny continue to thrive.

In 2015 and 2016 his service fee was set at $55,000 and increased to $192,500 in 2018. His earnings stand at just over $14 million with Snitzels earnings in excess of $20m, courtesy of Redzels second Everest which brought in almost $7 million.

Arthur Mitchell said the response from breeders indicated Hellbent, a group 1 winner sired by I Am Invincible, is also in for another great year at Yarraman Park.

“He was syndicated and he stood a full book in 2018. Hell cover another strong book with his price of $27,500 inc GST,” he added.

Pierata makes lucky 13

The announcement on Wednesday that Aquis have purchased Pierata to stand at their Murrurundi base in 2019 means a total of 13 stallions will commence new careers in the Hunter Valley.

The sale of Pierata, whose 19 race starts resulted in seven wins and $3,311,200 culminating in his superb All Aged Stakes success at Randwick last Saturday, an effort which convinced the Aquis management that he was a great stallion prospect.

American Pharoah launches first hometown hero

Further to Bloodlines article last week regarding Winx and her 2019 stallion partner, American Pharoah made a large statement with his first American winner – Maven – last Friday at Aqueduct.

The win followed on from a first-up success by $US750,000 ($1.07m) colt Monarch of Egypt romping home at Naas five days earlier for trainer Aidan OBrien.

Wedged in between the wins was a third for American Pharoah named Tesorina, which is one of the six two-year-olds by the Triple Crown winner counted by Wesley Ward among his juvenile team.

Both winners are heading to Royal Ascot in late June withRead More – Source
