Longboard comp continues despite halt to Round 2

Round two of the Indian Ocean Longboard Club competition was put on hold midway through the morning of surfing thanks to some shark activity, raining on the parade of the surfers keen to make their mark. Sponsored by Holden Accountants, the celebrations continued at the Dunsborough Yacht Club despite the interruption. The Club holds competitions for members between late February and late November. The low key competitions are held on Saturday morning and are followed by social get together in the evening. Heats are made up of four surfers of mixed ages, ability and gender who are given 20 minutes to show their stuff. Round three will be held on Saturday April 27, with tshirts to be provided by Salt Merchant and sponsored by SRB Legal. The event presentations will be held at the Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club. All new members are welcome to participate on the day. The Club offers members a social and competitive environment and welcomes new members and their families into the tribe.
