Cowtown stop for radio show’s South West tour | Photos

Cowaramup was the centre of attention when ABC Radio's road trip dropped in on Tuesday for a live outdoor broadcast. The ABC's Dee Salmin and Stan Shaw were based at the Cowtown Classic Café, from where they interviewed locals on a variety of issues. Steve 'Farmer' Jones from Sunflowers Animal Farm discussed the importance of introducing children to animals as well as caring for more than 350 animals at the popular tourist spot. Cowaramup artist Deanne Haddow discussed the importance of the Margaret River Open Studios, of which she is one of more than 100 contributors from the region, while Claire Savage introduced her new range of walks. Local personality, chef and writer Ian Parmenter discussed the program for the upcoming Margaret River Readers and Writers' Festival, which includes a visit by his long time friend and TV colleague, Geraldine Doogue. The broadcast's finale featured Andrea Frances Manners and friends serenading listeners with some a capella music.
