Eggstra fun at O’Reilly park this Easter

Family and friends hopped on down to O'Reilly park on Thursday for the annual community Easter party. There was was plenty of action with a number of services available providing a range of activities for families and kids. Face painting by the Bogan Bush Mobile was a popular attraction, followed by art and craft including decorating Easter eggs organised by Aeris mine. Ability Links were also present making some noise with African drumming, and Livebetter had a variety of home made bath products for sale. "There's a great turn up here to start off the Easter long weekend," she said. "There's a variety of age groups here of friends, families and people just visiting for the holidays. "We're lucky we've had a number of services come on board to help make it an 'eggstra' exciting day." The ever-popular StormCo were also in town running a number of activities, cooking the barbecue and delivered chocolate Easter eggs to the children. StormCo Coordinator Robyn Evans said the group have been visiting Nyngan for over 15 years, and have enjoyed themselves each year. "We've been here for three days, and we just love Nyngan, the community are so supportive," she said. "After 15 years we feel part of the Nyngan community. "It's a great relationship we have, we absolutely love it." Stormco stands for 'Service to Others Really Matters' and is a joint venture between the Hills Adventist College and Kellyville Second Day Adventist Church. Each year a team of almost 25 teenagers and adults from Sydney push themselves out of their comfort zones, to perform as clowns, create craft, tell stories, act, communicate and connect with other teens and children in Nyngan. "It's so great for our kids to build friendships and connections," Ms Evans said. "The parents seem to appreciate us visiting, and the kids are great." Ms Evans said the hospitality of the community has been amazing and thanked Nyngan for welcoming them. She especially thanked the Bogan Shire Council for their support allowing them to use the Town Hall and provide tents for the activities.
