James Cleaver announced as 2019 Rural Ambassador

The talent just keeps getting better each year in the Rural Achiever program, run by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, and which focuses on developing young agricultural talent from across NSW. These young men and women really are the cream of the crop, as was demonstrated at last night's presentation dinner. This year's winner, James Cleaver, hails from Nyngan. He grew up on the family farm and has trained in economics and law. He is a rural support worker for the Department of Primary Industries and has a big picture aim of creating a sustainable future for agriculture. James will now go on to represent NSW in the Australasian final next year in New Zealand. ALSO MAKING NEWS: Last year's winner Tim Green, a cotton pathologist with the NSW DPI at Yanco, will represent NSW later this year at the upcoming final in Perth. Tim congratulated this year's competitors at Sydney Royal Show at a dinner last night, where the 2019 ambassador was announced. This year's intake also included: Rayali Banerjee, Epping, Denbigh Burrows, Wagga Wagga, Samuel Bush, Cootamundra, Samuel Johnson, Forbes, Katrina Nash, Toogong, Lachlan Patterson, Cowra, and Rebecca Thistlethewaite, Narrabri.
