Women In Film and Television NSW- Raising Films Australia's one-day seminar is delivered in partnership with Screenworks and Creative Plus Business, supported by funding from the State Government. Project Manager Raising Films Australia Tracey Corbin-Matchett said the seminar, delivered by experienced facilitator Monica Davidson, is set to be both informative and fun. Photographer Duke Albada's Dubbo drive-in exhibition to open Thursday "Women who've attended the course have said how much they have gotten out the day in terms of unlocking the barriers that held them back from fully participating in their careers while juggling motherhood," Ms Corbin-Matchett said. "Meeting other creative women and networking has been a really positive outcome for attendees. "Parenting responsibilities can make women feel isolated from others, so coming together for the day and meeting women going through similar experiences as well as the ongoing mentoring and support from regional screen industry support agency Screenworks, will offer women coming to the Dubbo course many strong take-away's from the day." Boys in the Band are coming to Dubbo for DRTCC show in May Local screen industry professional Dubbo Filmmaker coordinator Kellie Jennar welcomes the program. "I know through my work with local screen industry practitioners, the challenges they face to maintain a career whilst living outside of a metro location, and parenting and caring can create another layer to their issues," Ms Jennar said. "This course will certainly provide some much needed additional career support, especially for those from smaller towns. Megan Raikos, of WIFT NSW said program is specifically designed to address the needs of women who are returning to work after a career break or who feel stuck.
