Crazy Rich Asians star Michelle Yeoh has been cast in the Avatar sequels as Dr Karina Mogue.

The 2009 movie, which still stands as one of the highest-grossing films of all-time due to its use of then-groundbreaking 3D visuals, is coming back for more 10 years on.

Director James Cameron has nothing but praise for the 56-year-old as she lands the role.

Throughout her career, Michelle has always created unique and memorable characters. I look forward to working with Michelle to do the same thing on the Avatar sequels, he explained.

A former Bond girl, Michelle has also starred in CBS Star Trek Discovery, and Danny Boyles Sunshine.

While its been a good while since we first met the characters, Cameron previously revealed the upcoming flick is set to be an emotional rollercoaster.

In case you need a refresher- the last time we saw Jake Scully (Sam Worthington) he was about to start an entirely new life, leaving his earthly body and to join his new wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) to live with the other Pandora-dwellers.
