Star Wars Kelly Marie Tran was shown getting pretty emotional as fans had a huge reaction to the first look at Rose Tico in Episode IX, The Rise Of Skywalker.

We stan.

The 30-year-old actress, who first appeared in The Last Jedi, wiped tears from her fans as fans jumped to their feet after seeing the beloved character again.

Its really overwhelming. Hi, hello, thank you! she told fans.

Director JJ Abrams added: I was grateful to [Last Jedi] director Rian Johnson for so many things he did in Episode 8. The greatest was casting Kelly Marie.

Clearly, a lot of fans agree – and the love for the character extended to social media too.

Another recalled the abuse Kelly received when she first entered the franchise, writing: After leaving social media due to harassment from toxic fans last year, to witness Kelly Marie Tran getting a standing ovation from a bunch of Star Wars fans at Celebration made me tear up like few displays of fandom ever have.

ITS. WHAT. SHE. DESERVES.

The star was forced off social media back in September after trolls unleashed abuse on her.

I felt like I wanted to write something that was honest, that truly came from me and I dont know if Ill ever go back, said the actress said at the time.

Her comments came after she wrote an op-ed in which she revealed that she didnt remove her social media accounts because of the comments themselves, but because she started to believe them.
