Kerr furious with Black Leopards after Pirates defeat

Cape Town – Black Leopards coach Dylan Kerr says he is enraged by the attitude and performance of his players in Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Absa Premiership leaders Orlando Pirates.

The Sea Robbers took an early lead through a superb Luvuyo Memela free-kick in the first stanza before Thembinkosi Lorch's late header secured all three points at Orlando Stadium.

The result means Bucs moved three points clear at the summit of the table whereas Leopards appear to be getting drawn back into the relegation battle.

Currently, the side have 25 points in 12th position with the likes of Chippa United, Baroka and Free State Stars on 24 beneath them.

Nonetheless, Kerr revealed he is furious with his players in the loss and said strong action would be taken to remedy the situation ahead of Saturday's clash with Kaizer Chiefs at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Speaking after the game, he told SuperSport: "We were lucky to escape with just two goals.

"We gave them the ball too often and should have been punished. It was suicide. On another day, it could have been easily three or four. Micho should be a bit angry with his strikers because they had plenty of opportunities, but the opportunities came from our poor decision-making.

"I'm absolutely gobsmacked. I was out on the pitch at the end of the game and my players were laughing, making jokes and we've just been beaten 2-0.

"Their chances have come from our mistakes and we're better than that.Read More
