Boy, 2, died after falling into broken septic tank as he played in backyard
A two-year-old boy died after he fell into a underground septic tank while he played in his backyard.
Ty Dixon Waller, of Calion, Arkansas, reportedly dropped into the sewage container through a hole left by a broken lid on April 1.
A neighbor had tried covering the gap with cardboard and bricks in hopes that it would keep people away.
The youngster was rushed to a hospital his mother after found him in the tank, but the child died of severe brain injury days later at Little Rock Hospital.
Tys mother said she had been watching her son on a video monitor, but lost sight of him at some point, Captain Jeff Stinson of the Union County Sheriffs office told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

What caused him to look into the tank was that one of those boards had been moved and they had discovered that the lid had either fallen in or it had been removed, Stinson said.

She went outside looking for her son, assuming that Ty was hiding from her, before she spotted the helmet the boy had been wearing inside the tank.
The mother and a friend broke a larger hole in the tank with a hammer and were eventually able to reach the child and pull him out.
