Suspect re-arrested for eating cops chocolate just before court hearing

A woman was arrested for stealing police offers candy at a courthouse less than an hour after she appeared before a judge on a separate charge, police said.

Megan Jackson, 29, was visiting the Austin, Arkansas city hall on Monday for an arraignment hearing because she was accused of having no liability insurance, but decided to add a few more charges to her rap sheet, it is claimed.

Jackson reportedly entered the courthouses police department offices through the back door and began helping herself to chocolate off a work station counter. She is then said to have stolen more than $1,000 in goods from a city officials car, according to authorities.

Austin Police Chief Rick Anderson said Jackson began wandering around city hall until someone noticed her and directed her to her court hearing, Arkansas Online reported.

After her arraignment, Jackson circled the courthouse parking lot in her car several times before pulling alongside three unattended police cruisers, it is alleged. She is then said to have tried to open the cars by rattling their doors, although she had no luck because they were all locked.

She then moved on to another car, belonging to city hall office manager Randy McKenzie, and discovered that it had been left unlocked.

Jackson allegedly swiped a Bluetooth speaker, an Apple TV, McKenzies passport, and several $2 bills from the vehicle, which the office manager later reported to be missing.
