Garden guess lands local family a generous prize

Amongst all the April Fools Day jokes on social media on the first of this month was a real post – the winners of Margaret River Primary School's Kitchen Garden Zucchini Competition. Followers of the popular page were asked to guess the total number of zucchinis the garden produced over summer. Lauren Fraser was the lucky winner, with her guess of 447 being exactly right. She and her family are now the fortunate recipients of a $200 gift pack from the Kitchen Garden. "We're really happy to win this prize because my partner is a super keen gardener – it's perfect for our family", she said. When asked how she came to pick the correct number of zucchinis, Lauren answered "It was just a lucky guess! But I thought it would be a lot, so I chose a pretty high number." Lauren, her partner Ben and two daughters Hope and Skye now have a lot of planting, harvesting, cooking and eating to look forward to.
