EastEnders has revealed the true intentions of Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) following his return to Walford with Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) – he wants to destroy his dad Phil (Steve McFadden) in a vicious revenge scheme.
Its been clear from the outset that Ben has been hiding secret ulterior motives but his dad was all smiles when his son arrived back stronger and full of purpose before then suggesting they rebuild the Mitchell empire from scratch as a team.
With Phil now full of hope that all is not lost, Lola later asked Ben what had changed his mind about staying and why he suddenly loved his father again.
But its a case of quite the opposite – he doesnt just want Phils cash any more but he wants everything. He explained to Lola that they were going to rebuild everything until Phil was at his happiest and then take it from him and leave him a broken man in the process.

As revenge for years of torment growing up into the man he is now becoming, Ben appeared to show no remorse as he planned a particularly brutal downfall for his dad.
As the weeks go on, Phil will trust Ben more and more – but the plot will thicken and the more that he gains, the more that he stands to lose.
