Suicide Squad 2 is bringing back Viola Davis Amanda Waller
Viola Davis Amanda Waller was one of the most underused characters in Suicide Squad so thank the movie Gods that James Gunn plans to utilise her more in the upcoming sequel.
The film was largely divisive among fans but her ruthless leader was arguably the one element that everyone agreed was brilliant.
Now Gunn – who will direct Suicide Squad 2 despite also being on board to direct more of Marvels Guardians film – has confirmed Viola will return alongside Margot Robbies Harley Quinn and Jai Courteneys Captain Boomerang.
The sequel has been described as a total reboot of the first film, presumably following the scathing critical response to the original.
Will Smith will not return as Deadshot due to reported scheduling conflicts while Idris Elba is thought to be joining the cast in a newly created role; Joel Kinnaman confirmed to Metro.co.uk that he is not sure if he will return as Rick Flag but that he was keen.
Gunn has written the script for the DC reboot, which is now titled The Suicide Squad.

The big question is how audiences will react seeing a reboot of a film released only three years ago, but following DCs positive upswing with Aquaman and the upcoming Shazam!, it could be the rewrite DCs movie universe needs.
