Billie Eilish thanks fans as she becomes youngest Number 1 female solo act on Official Albums chart
Billie Eilish has scored a Number One this week on the Official Albums Chart with When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
Some extra congratulations are in order for this 17-year-old, as she has become the youngest ever female solo act to top the charts.
The American teens first ever album reached the very top spot with 48,000 combined sales – and to celebrate the news she thanked her fans.
She said: I appreciate you making WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? the #1 album in the UK so much. We worked really hard on this album. Thank you for the love!!
At 17 years, three months and 18 days old, Billie overtakes Joss Stone – now 31 – as the youngest woman to top the Official Albums Chart.
It was a close call as Joss 2004 record Mind, Body & Soul reached Number One when she was 17 years, five months and 28 days old.
And that is not all from Billie, because her project is also the biggest debut album from an international artist to top the Official Chart since Lana Del Reys Born To Die in 2012.

Meanwhile, The Greatest Showman made a jump from the third spot to second place, Tom Walkers What A Time To Be Alive lifts from four to three, and Queens Bohemian Rhapsody has a successful streak hopping one place up to the fifth spot for a 15th non-consecutive week in the Top Five.
Recently Billie has opened up to reveal that she does not want to be known as the artist with Tourettes.
The Bury A Friend singer revealed that she was diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome when she was 11 years old.
Ive had Tourettes since I was 11, but it was not something I wanted to be defined by, she told Stellar Magazine as she graced the cover in March.
I know how people work: if I were to make it a very known thing, then it would be Billie Eilish, the artist with Tourettes.
Its a fine line for the 17-year-old, as she also feels more connected when fans reveal that they too have tics.
