“It feels a lot shorter since Nathan passed, with all the memories I have of him,” Tommy said.

“I was only thinking about it last night. It does feel like it was only a year or two ago, but then you look back and see whats happened.

“I have my fourth child on the way. Thats all happened since he has been gone. We have lived in Hong Kong for a year, Ive been to Dubai, and made two trips to Japan.

“All this has happened since he has been gone.”

One of Berrys most memorable wins was on The Offer in the Sydney Cup in 2014 as he rode with spirit of two. He won the Nathan Berry medal a couple of years later and says he still feels his brother's presence on the track.

“The closest I feel to Nathan is when Im on horseback,” Berry said. “In the six months after [Nathan died] was some of my best riding.

“I enjoy talking about him and enjoy talking about his life.

“But the times where it is tough to talk about is today, our birthday and Christmas because the memories come flooding back.

“There are those three or four really tough days a year.

“It upsets me more seeing Mum and Dad, its a very tough day for them. It hurts me more just seeing them in pain than it does myself.

“I feel like I can deal with it now.”
