A mother stopped a 54 year-old stranger from abducting her five year-old daughter by pulling out her gun, police say.
Mohamed Zayan, 54, from Egypt, tried to pull the child away by her hair at an Old Navy store at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, West Virginia on Monday, police said.
The girls mother acted quickly and whipped out a handgun, taking aim at her daughters abductor. She told Zayan to let her daughter go and he ran out of the store and into the mall concourse.
A short time later, police and mall security spotted Zayan walking near the food court, where he was arrested, WTAP reported.
Zayan was arraigned at the Cabell County Courthouse late Monday night. He has been charged with felony attempted abduction.
