Ridley Scott praises high schoolers viral Alien production
Compliments dont come much bigger than this!
Director Ridley Scott was so impressed by a high school production of his movie Alien that he wrote to staff and students at the school to tip his hat – and offer up a few words of advice.
North Bergen Drama Club in New Jersey became an overnight sensation after a clip from their adaptation of the sci-fi movie went viral earlier this month. Everything from the costumes to the staging and acting left the audience in awe.
My hat comes off to all of you for your creativity, imagination and determination to produce such an impressive show, the 81-year-old Hollywood heavyweight wrote in the letter shared on Twitter by North Bergens drama teacher.

Limitations often produce the best results because imagination and determination can surpass any shortfalls, he added.
Thanks for doing Alien – I feel very complemented.
He then went on to say that his company, Scott Free Productions, will be donating some money to the drama club to fund an encore performance of Alien.
Ridley signed off the letter with a cheeky reference to one of his other blockbusters. How about your next TEAM production being Gladiator?, he wrote.
Weve got a better idea, Ridley? Why dont you make the students extras in Gladiator 2?
