Local golfers thunderstruck as wet weather stops play

Last week's Tuesday Veterans Stableford 9-hole competition we saw Peter Brennan in first place with 22 points. David Benson came in second place with 21 c/b points and third place went to Ken Miles scoring 21 points. Wednesday Women's 18 hole stableford competition was called off halfway through the competition due to thunder and lightning, which unfortunately cannot allow play to continue due to safety risks. Thursday's Men's Scroungers 18 hole stroke event was sponsored by Dean Taylor and Graham Farrell, and had Vivian Booker in first with a score of 68 points. In second place was Dave Noske on 69 points, and third place went to Steve Owen on 70 c/b points. Friday's mixed 9 hole stableford event saw First Man going to John White on 20 points, while First Lady was Barbara Webster on 19 points. Overall Third place went to Terry Haywood on 19 points. Saturday's 18 hole men's stableford event was sponsored by Yallingup YOBS Billy Taplin and Jim Triglione, and had first place to Ray Mann on 38 points. Bill Ross came in second place on 37c/b points and third place went to Richard Holt on 37 points. Sunday's mixed 18 hole stableford event was sponsored by Morries' Dave Astbury and had the ladies taking out first, second and third place. Roslyn Cummings came in first on 42 points, while in second place was Penny Foy on 41 c/b points and Kim Robson third on 41 points.
