Tim Burtons latest offering, Dumbo, has finally hit cinemas.

If you, like so many of us, have watched the trailer for Dumbo through misty eyes, then you might have slightly mixed feelings about the fact that you can now go see the Dumbo remake.

The star-studded movie boasts the likes of Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Colin Farrell in its cast, and follows a young elephant with unusually large ears who tries to keep a circus afloat, only to find that the circus isnt everything its cracked up to be.

Metro.co.uks own review by Mel Evans gave the movie three and a half stars out of five, saying: those who are after a classical and traditional Disney romp you best not get your hopes up. This is a little different.

The review goes on to say that, while some characters fall a little flat, Dumbo still has a lot going for it.

She writes: With its grit, life-like circus atmosphere and true outsider message only Burton can bring to life its the perfect antidote for those who arent fans of soppy stories but want to relive a childhood favourite.

Dumbo UK release date

Dumbo was released in cinemas today, Friday 29 March.

The original, won an Oscar when it came out way back in 1941, but has since garnered a reputation for being racist.

Another reason why itll be interesting to see what Burton has done with his version of the story in 2019.
