Revealed: Average and median incomes of Dubbo residents

The average taxable income for Dubbo residents is less than people in Orange, Bathurst Lithgow and Mudgee. But, the good news is that Dubbo residents witnessed the highest growth in average income over the past four years. That's according to the Australian Taxation Office's latest release on the average and median incomes for each postcode in the Central West. The ATO data showed residents with postcode 2800 had the highest average and median taxable incomes for the year 2016-17 compared with those living in areas with postcodes 2795, 2830, 2790 and 2850. The average and median taxable incomes for the year 2013-14 were $49,140 and $41,831 respectively. Though Dubbo had the lowest average income compared to Orange, Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee, it registered the highest growth in average income in 2016-17. The average income in 2016-17 grew seven per cent on 2013-14. The average and median taxable incomes for the year 2013-14 were $53,699 and $38,567 respectively. The average income in 2016-17 grew 1.6 per cent on 2013-14. Anaesthetists filled the second spot with an average income of $367,343 and internal medicine specialists came in third with an average income of $299,378.
