Australian Bloodstock have won races all round the world, including a Melbourne Cup with Protectionist, but they will break new ground in Dubai with Brave Smash on Saturday night after trying to tick one off the bucket list with Red Cardinal and Big Duke at Rosehill.
Co-founder Jamie Lovett is in Dubai but his heart will be at Rosehill as the Tancred Stakes field goes to post with Australian Bloodstock having the second and third picks in the market.

“We have won a lot of races but for me the Tancred has been special race that I have just wanted to win,” Lovett said. “It sounds funny to say that after winning a Melbourne Cup, but for some reason this race has good memories for me from the horses that have won it.
“We have a great chance to join them and Ill be watching on TV because you cant be two places at once.

“We are racing in Dubai for the first time, which is exciting, and I think it would be the 10th country we have raced, but I would have loved to be at Rosehill.”
Lovetts first question from Dubai was 'how was the weather' with a soft or heavy track preferable for Red Cardinal and Big Duke.
“They just need the cut in the ground, you can see that in their form, which is very well exposed. They are effective on it and it would take others out of the race,” he said.
“Avilius [$1.65 favourite] is certainly the one to beat but our horses havent been in better form [before] even though they are seven-year-olds.”
The pair joined the Kris Lees stable at Newcastle after Darren Weirs disqualification and Red Cardinal has won the Parramatta Cup and Sky High Stakes since, while Big Duke, which was fourth in the Melbourne Cup two years ago, has been runner-up in the Parramatta Cup and Manion Cup.
“We would take the Parramatta Cup finish again,” Lovett said. “They have just got the soft tracks that they need and the change of environment has picked up them up.
“We would love the rain to come because that would make us more confident.”

It would be an ideal start to the day if Australian Bloodstock can win the Tancred with Brave Smash considered a knockout hope in the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan.
