People are befuddled by these Topshop jeans that make you look like you have four legs

Weve had one clear crime against denim this week, in the form of denim panties (or janties, if you prefer).

Now, let us look at a more ambiguous case.

Topshop is currently selling a pair of wide leg jeans. Except theyre not entirely jeans, as half of each leg is a mesh fabric with little glittery hearts.

Im going to risk being made fun of by the internet at large by saying I quite like these. Theyre fun, right? A nice twist on traditional denim, a way to show off your legs without bothering with a skirt, and theres glitter involved, which is always a lovely thing.

Sadly, few people seem to agree.

When the jeans were shared online they received a number of befuddled comments, questioning why anyone would want jeans that make you look like you have four legs.

Theyve got a point – theres definitely a slight optical illusion going on. But maybe we want people to be puzzled by where our legs are. Theres nothing wrong with a sense of mystery.

The product description for the jeans, which are priced at £60, reads: Black wide leg jeans with glitter heart mesh outer leg panels. High waisted design.

The model wears the jeans with a matching mesh top, which, again, I quite like! I expect to be in the minority with this view.
