Holidaymakers stranded as Icelandic Wow Air collapses and cancels all flights
Icelandic budget airline Wow Air has gone into administration and cancelled all future flights, leaving thousands of travellers stranded.
The company grounded aircraft early Thursday morning while claiming it was in the final stages of completing an agreement with a group of investors and further information would be provided.
But following months of talks with the potential new backers, it has apparently failed to secure a cash line, causing the airline to cease operation.
All future flights have now been cancelled and passengers have been urged to re-book alternative flights with other airlines.

One passenger, who travelled from Paris on a Wow flight last night, described how officers entered the plane when they landed in Baltimore.
Landed in Bmore last night from Paris on WOW and since I needed a wheel chair, I was one of the last to exit and thought it strange that police officers were entering plane and now wondered if the plane was seized. #wowair #prayingforticketholders #bwi pic.twitter.com/UMVMg9dYPO
