Jason Day's back injury woes have resurfaced during his crushing loss to veteran Jim Furyk on day one at the World-Golf Championships-Match Play.
Day was handed a two-hole loss by 48-year-old Furyk and was noticeably troubled in the the last few holes of the match at Austin Country Club.

He received medical treatment on his back immediately after the round and is a concern not only for the remainder of this week's event, but also the Masters.
The Augusta National major begins in less than two weeks and Day recently withdrew mid-round from the Arnold Palmer Invitational with pain related to an annular disc tear.

Day, the 2014 and 2016 WGC-Match Play winner, blew a sizeable lead over the American veteran when he built a three-up advantage only to lose the next three holes with Furyk carding a trio of birdies.
The pair arm-wrestled for the remainder of the back nine before Day three-putted the 17th hole.
Day then uncharacteristically flubbed a pitch shot into a greenside bunker to lose the 18th hole and the match to former US Open winner Furyk.
Marc Leishman had more success than countryman Day, earning a two-up victory over Thailand's Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
