Taron Egerton reveals Rocketman opens with Elton John in confronting rehab scene

Taron Egerton has revealed Rocketman opens with Elton John in confronting rehab scene.
At a special peek at Rocketman in London, Taron Egerton gave punters a special insight into the tone of the movie, a musical fantasy based on Elton Johns life.
The movie opens with him heading into rehab …grinding his teeth and thats where we jump off, he said at Abbey Road Studios on Friday 22 March.
Adding that Elton showed candour and openness in allowing Taron to tell his story, the Welsh actor added: For him to come from this from the standpoint of “Im going to show myself from the most vulnerable role…” that quality of bravery and lack of concern with how one comes off… Elton gave me the license to go make him ugly at times.

Speaking alongside director Dexter Fletcher and music director Giles Martin, Taron waxed lyrical on working with Sir Elton, the Rocketman himself.
Eltons always been very supportive and [the team has] been so unbridled in their encouragement of me and that I could do this, he said.
I didnt need much convincing.
Taron added: I spent time with the man and they say dont meet your heroes and its not true of Elton John.
