Robbie Williams is reportedly trying to crack the US charts again and, who better for a swing song than Hugh Jackman?

After a stint on The X Factor last year, the on-off Take That singer is said to be returning to music with plans to write a new swing album after the success of his previous swing records – 2001s Swing When Youre Winning and 2013s Swing Both Ways, which both went to number one.

According to The Mirror, Robbie is hoping to bag an a-list movie star to join him for a duet and The Greatest Showman actor Hugh is reportedly top of his list.

The insider claimed: Robbie has the wheels in motions to plot out another swing album.

The tie in with Las Vegas is obvious, especially given his favourite crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin enjoyed mammoth success there.

Robbie, 44, also has high hopes of working with a slew of other film stars, such as Sacha Baron Cohen, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Reese Witherspoon and Zooey Deschanel.

The source adds: If he gets this right, it really could be the beginning of him cracking the US market after so long.

The idea of Hugh and Robbie on stage together would be dynamite. A duet with Sacha on a funny number would be amazing and a tune with a Vegas great like Tony Bennett could be enormous.

It is exciting times as he formulates ideas and track listings for the album.

Robbie is one of the UKs best-selling male artists with 10 number one solo albums over the past two decades. While Take That enjoyed minor success in the States, it seems Robbie has never managed to fully crack the Billboard market alone.

Fans are hoping that the Angels singer will reunite with his Take That bandmates when they embark on a short European tour later this year.
