Wanna Ones contract has officially expired – whats next for the 11 idols?

Wanna Ones time as a band has officially come to an end, after the groups contract with YMC Entertainment and Swing Entertainment expired on 31 December 2018.

But fans of the I Promise You singers neednt worry, as youll be seeing a lot more of the idols as they embark on their solo careers.

The first member of Wanna One slated to release solo music is Yoon Ji-sung, who will release his solo album on 20 February.

Yoon Ji-sung, the oldest member of Wanna One, will also be starring in the musical The Days, before he enlists in the military in the spring.

Kang Daniel is also planning a solo music career, and is signed to the same agency as Yoon Ji-sung, although no details on when he will release new music have been unveiled. However, as Kang Daniel has just opened up his own Instagram account, well have our eyes glued there for any sneak peeks.

It is believed Kim Jae-hwan is also planning to go solo, with reports claiming he is writing his own music.

Meanhile, Hwang Min Hyun is rejoining NUEST, which has been performing as NU-EST W during his time in Wanna One.

Pledis Entertainment confirmed: Hwang Min Hyun is returning to the team after concluding the Wanna One concerts.

Brand New Music have signed Lee Dae Hwi and Park Woo Jin, who are making their debut in a group alongside MXMs Lim Young Min and Kim Dong Hyun.

The agency said: We are planning for an official debut in about April or May after the members are finalised.

Ha Sung Woon has signed with Star Crew Entertainment, and it is unclear as of yet whether he will be going solo or returning with his former band HOTSHOT.

Ong Seong-wu is rumoured to be joining a JTBC drama series as he explores an acting career, while Lai Kuan-Lin is taking up a role in a Chinese TV drama series, after filming a reality TV show as well.

According to Park Ji-hoons agency Maroo Entertaintment, he is exploring his options, with a statement reading: He has been offered roles in several TV drama series … There is a piece under consideration, but the final decision has not been made. As he is determined about being a singer, he plans to do both.

And Bae Jin-young is also considering both acting and returning to K-pop in a new band.

Wanna One will perform for the last time between 24 and 27 January before parting for good; their final concert will be held at Seouls Gocheok Sky Dome, where their debut showcase was held.

The band debuted in August 2017 following the second season of survival reality show Produce 101, with their first EP 1X1=1 (To Be One).

Wanna One had huge success during their year and a half together, achieving the Rookie grand slam in 2018 as they picked up top newcomer awards from ceremonies including the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Golden Disc Awards.
