Ariana Grande jumped on the hype same as millions of viewers across the world, to watch Sandra Bullock and Trevante Rhodes in Bird Box.

And like some of the millions of Netflix viewers across the world, Ariana didnt really get it.

In a now-deleted tweet, Ariana Grande said: Bird box was cool. Whats it about tho.

The post-apocalyptic thriller, which started streaming on Netflix on 21 December has become a bit of a viral sensation. Already, the internet is flooded with memes about the feature, which has smashed Netflix records.

The streaming service tweeted: Took off my blindfold this morning to discover that 45,037,125 Netflix accounts have already watched Bird Box — best first 7 days ever for a Netflix film!

Given how much people loved the film, Arianas tweet is a bit of a bad take. A pretty bad take.

Its unclear what the Thank U, Next singer meant before she axed the baffled tweet: Was it that she didnt understand the reason people had to wear blindfolds? Was it that the film didnt really explain why an unseen force threatened peoples lives?

The movie did leave viewers with loads of questions, such as, why we never actually see a single monster during the movie, if this pandemic spread across the world or if it was isolated to America. Was the threat biblical, or viral, or infectious?

Valid questions.

According to director Susanne Bier, the reason we cant see the monsters is because they appear different to everybody who sees them.

She told Radio Times: The creatures mess with your mind; they tap into your deepest fear.

And, because they tap into your deepest fear, we cant ever see them, because that deepest fear is going to be different whoever you are.

She added: For me, the most exciting point in any thriller has always been that point right before you see the monster, right before you see the villain.

That has always been the most frightening, and I wanted the whole movie to have that atmosphere.

Basically, Ariana, Bird Box is what happens when boggarts are set loose upon the world, and the world has no wands. So no Expecto Patronum.

For reasons completely unrelated to just having watched #birdbox, @jk_rowling how do you fight a boggart if you dont have a wand?
