Track Good 3, with the Rail True, so should play fairly even
Race 1 CL2 HCP (1000m)
Lightly raced Dubbo 3YO visitor 2. Sneak Preview returns off a three-month spell and looks suited this course fresh. Put two wins together last prep when sparingly raced, both times sitting off the speed and pouncing late. Draws to trail the speed again and should get the last shot.
Dangers: Warwick Farm mare 3. Terra Reign was brave leading all the way in a higher rating BM 58 over 1100m on Mudgee Cup Day, and is suited back slightly in trip; while Bathurst mare 4. Worldly Pleasure won this track and grade two weeks back and stable is firing.
How to play it: Sneak Preview to win and quinella 2 and 3
Race 2 MAIDEN PLATE (1000m)
Warwick Farm-trained 3YO filly 8. Elenara looks very nicely placed resuming off a strong recent trial win at Kembla. At only previous start back in July as a 2YO, hit the line hard from well back at Hawkesbury, and there's a further lead with the stablemate being scratched!
Dangers: Doubt there are any, but Mudgee-trained 1. Highly Influential has had two solid trials, and was hard in the market at his only run this year in a decent Wyong maiden back in April.
How to play it: Elenara to win
Race 3 MAIDEN PLATE (1300m)
Wider affair here, but expecting further improvement from Warwick Farm filly 14. Sono Dolce who after a few false starts finally debuted as a well backed favourite at Nowra three weeks back powering home to finish right on the heels of the place-getters. Looks to have ability and gets the fence draw here.
Dangers: Mudgee-trained 2. Regal Cannon can finally win his maiden! Got lost back in the field as a short-priced favourite at Narromine, but previous form was banging the door down including a luckless second in a CL1 at Quirindi when heavily backed and before that two more close seconds when hitting the line hard. Like him coming back in trip off a month-long freshen-up. Hawkesbury-trained 3. Scarpa fought on strong last start this track before being overhauled by the promising local filly Supreme Gem, and is drawn to get another nice run right on the speed; while Hawkesbury 3YO filly 11. Hush Money found the line nicely resuming at Nowra, and is suited even better up in trip and down in weight.
How to play it: Sono Dolce to win and box trifecta 2-3-11-14
Race 4 BM 66 HCP (1400m)
Always been a big fan of Gulgong mare 4. Sea Lady despite a tendency to mix form. She was terrific under a big weight finishing hard in similar grade on Mudgee Cup day and this looks a shade weaker.
Dangers: Local 6YO 2. Loves A Hassle worked home nicely from well back in BM 74 grade this track last start and gets a good trailing draw over the right trip; while Cowra-trained 5. Welcome Art comes out of that same BM 74 race behind Meraki Miss when resuming and does have a second-up win on his CV.
How to play it: Sea Lady each-way and quinella 2 and 4
Race 5 CL1 HCP (1400m)
Good race, with several chances. Mudgee mare 6. Lucy's Legacy has had three runs back from a spell and should be at her peak now. Won her maiden this track resuming before found the company at Scone second-up a little rich; but last run at home on Cup day was a beauty absorbing plenty of pressure up front and was only run down late. Tighter track here also suits her pattern.
Dangers: Warwick Farm-trained 1. Star Of O'Reilly was a smart debut winner at Muswellbrook before outclassed at Canterbury, but this is far more to his liking despite the big weight. Smart local filly 7. Supreme Gem stormed home to win her maiden this track after putting the writing on the wall with a powerful finishing burst on Mudgee Cup day. Will get back, but ready for the extra trip. Gulgong 3YO 5. Larynx also has plenty of ability, charging home to win his maiden at Dubbo last start in dominant fashion, although inside draw and tighter circuit may not suit his style. Dubbo-trained 2. Sprezzatura is also destined to win better races. After resuming two runs back with a good closing effort under 60kg, was caught in the wrong part of the track last start in BM 58 grade. Hasn't won since breaking his maiden last summer and will race in the second half of the field, but 1400m and 2kg claim can bring him into the money.
How to play it: Lucy's Legacy to win
Race 6 BM 66 HCP (2100m)
Tricky affair, but Mudgee 6YO 5. Western Parade finally steps up to an ideal trip and can break his run of outs at big odds. Was good from off the speed two back in a BM 66 at Gunnedah before again hitting the line hard over a mile last start. Ready for this distance and senior rider jumps on for leading trainer.
Dangers: Narromine-trained 1. Magic Over The Bay is a clear threat off his powerful closing run in a Federal BM 65 at Canberra last start. Dubbo-trained 4. Perpetual Motion had been consistent across BM 58 races before bravely taking on tougher company at Rosehill last start, and despite the wide gate here, will be working into the finish; while 3. Ima Baker does mix form, but drops back from the much stronger BM 86 Mudgee Cup.
How to play it: Western Parade each-way and box trifecta 1-3-4-5
Race 7 CL3 HCP (1280m)
Looks a lovely race second-up for Mudgee-trained 3. High Dive. Resumed in that strong BM 58 race on Mudgee Cup Day attacking the line from midfield. Carries less weight here and leading rider steers from a good draw.
Dangers: Another promising Mudgee visitor 6. Caprera had a false start scratched at the barrier a couple of weeks back, but leading trainer sent him straight back to the trials winning again in dominant fashion. Lightly-raced 5YO who looks ready to rock fresh. Dubbo mare 10. Music Miss who powered home to win easily in much weaker company last start looks the only other winning chance; although local mare 8. Concours fought hard to win her maiden at Mudgee on Cup Day and should be included in exotics.
How to play it: High Dive to win and quinella 3 and 6
