Creatives to collide

A collection of the states best artists have come together for the latest installment of Creatives Collide, a group exhibition to be held at Wilyabrups Cherubino Cellar Door from January 3. The creatives have been united by curator Kaye Guthrie Adonis. Ms Guthrie Adonis, who resides in Dunsborough and boasts an extensive career in the art industry, handpicked the artists involved in the show. Her four day call out for Creatives Collide received 270 expressions of interest from artists all over the world, however, she wanted to promote WA artists and the diversity of work on offer in the state. The broad range of talent will present works on canvas, photographs, fashion/ wearable art and much more. Margaret River artist Natalie Briney is among the talent on display. She will be joined by fellow artists Linley Molnar, Francesca Gnagnarella, Harvey Jackson, Jarrad Seng, Word Maiden Co, David Spencer, AKA.workshop, Hans Bruechle and Lewis Colours. The cellar doors magnificent barrel hall will be transformed into a gallery space for patrons to wander through and view the stellar collection. With just over 20 works to be shown, in her longest ever Creatives Collide event, Ms Guthrie Adonis believes the pieces will sell-out early. She encouraged South West residents and visitors to come and see the best the WA art scene had to offer. “There is going to be stuff people have never seen anything like before, from artists theyve maybe never even heard of,” she said. “No two artists in this exhibition are anything alike. “I want to put art in front of people who might not ever see it otherwise and this is going to be the absolute best work these artists can do because for me to handpick it, it has to be a certain quality, and I handpicked every piece shown.” Creatives Collide is supported by Larry Cherubino Wines and South Regional TAFE. The exhibition opens on January 3 and will run until January 20. Visitors can view the works daily from 10.30am to 5pm. A Meet the Artists event will be held on Sunday, January 13 from 12pm to 3pm. Cherubino Cellar Door is located at 3642 Caves Road.
