Komphela confirmed as Golden Arrows coach

Cape Town – Steve Komphela has been appointed as the new head coach of the Absa Premiership club, Golden Arrows.

It was reported earlier on Friday that Komphela resigned from his managerial role at Bloemfontein Celtic.

Komphela had taken up the managerial post at Celtic in June earlier this year – with the side currently seventh on the PSL standings.

However, the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor has reportedly quit the club – which is for sale – as they struggle to find a suitable owner.

Celtic remains up for sale, with club boss Max Tshabalala having failed to agree a deal with businesswoman Sinki Leshabane back in September.

Meanwhile, Arrows confirmed on Twitter the news of Komphela's appointment.

Komphela will be replacing Clinton Larsen, who parted ways with the club on Thursday.

Arrows have only won three out of their 15 matches and are 11th on the Absa Premiership standings.

Get your dictionaries out!! Class is in session. We can now confirm that we have appointed Steve Komphela as our new head coach. We welcome him and look forward to the remainder of the season.#BuildingTheBrand pic.twitter.com/yhMixwch0D
