Gemma Winter is about to face her past in Coronation Street when her brother Paul rocks up in Weatherfield after being released from prison – and hes a familiar face to David Platt. Viewers may recall first meeting Paul when he was Davids cellmate – after Paul tried to wake David up, he snapped and pinned him against the wall.
As Paul arrives to see David following his release, he makes it clear he needs a job and somewhere to stay but David doesnt feel this is his responsibility. However, Paul wont let his spirits be dampened and he is soon applying for work.
Billy Mayhew sees his efforts and talks to Carla Connor about taking on Paul at Underworld through the rehabilitation of offenders scheme and Paul is grateful and vows not to let him down as he starts work. Billy is chuffed to see his enthusiasm but soon Paul has seen the vicar in a new light and starts flirting with him, leaving Billy flustered.
Elsewhere, Gemma is hiding her feelings for Chesney Brown and urges him to do something romantic for Emma. But while Chesney surprises Emma with a picnic and Gemma is secretly miffed, she soon is distracted when she arrives home and hears noises in the flat.

She is soon followed by a hooded figure and as Chesney intervenes, Paul reveals himself and Gemma is shocked to see him.
But what kind of relationship do they have – and what might we be about to discover about Gemma as she catches up with her sibling?
