If you thought Get Out was scary and complex, wait until you watch the trailer for Jordan Peeles latest stab at horror, Us.

Written and directed by Jordan after the success of Get Out, starring Daniel Kaluuya, Us boasts a star-studded cast with Black Panther stars Lupita Nyongo and Winston Duke, as well as Elisabeth Moss from The Handmaids Tale.

And boy, are they in for one mind-bending ride.

Opening with a deliciously haunting remix of I Got 5 On It by Luniz, its just a normal family outing for Adelaide (Nyongo), Gabe (Duke) and their kids as they take a road trip to their beach house.

Lupita is seen like never before in Us

But of course, their ordinary getaway doesnt stay peaceful for long as Adelaides son spots a mysterious figure on the beach.

After sunset back at the beach house, the family are approached by a group of strangers in the dark and theyre clearly not neighbours in need of sugar. From then on, the blood pressure is high as Us descends into a dark realm of what Jordan has dubbed horror mythology, forcing Adelaide and her family to fight for their lives against something out of the ordinary.

Because the uninvited guests arent actually strangers but versions of Adelaide, Gabe and the children themselves. Adelaide says: They look just like us, but seem to have superhuman abilities to scale walls.

Think Strangers meets The Hills Have Eyes.

Its all in line with the running thread and message of Us, which is that: We are our own worst enemies.

Us is set for release on 15 March 2019

Lupita, 35, will be seen like never before as she plays a darker version of herself, performing face contortions and all.

Stylistically, Us appears to have all the hallmarkings of Get Out – theres even a similar moment to Kaluuyas iconic eye-bulging close-up scene – but the complexity of the horror is next level.

The cast have remained tight-lipped about Us but Elisabeth did tell IndieWire recently: All I can kind of say is, Im obviously a huge fan of Get Out, as is the rest of the world, and I think this movies gonna be really good. I just think its gonna be good.

Its just gonna be really good, and thats it.
