A HEATWAVE will scorch the Central West this festive period with temperatures set to rise from Christmas Eve through until Boxing Day, A low-intensity heatwave will commence on Christmas Day, before turning into a severe heatwave on Boxing Day. The mercury will soar to 35 degrees in western parts of the region – including Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Parkes, Wellington and Young – on Christmas Day.
