Curry lifts Warriors past Clippers in NBA

Steph Curry made a layup with 0.5 seconds left as the Golden State Warriors outlasted the Los Angeles Clippers 129-127 in an emotionally charged game.

Curry had 42 points to tie his second-highest scoring output of the season.

He also got the last laugh after he exchanged heated words with Clippers guard Patrick Beverley in the first quarter.

The Clippers' Avery Bradley tied it at 127 via a dunk with 20.6 seconds remaining.

On the next possession, Curry had Montrezl Harrell on him at the top of the key, drove down the middle of the lane and converted the layup off the glass for the winner.

Elsewhere, Kyrie Irving scored 25 points and dished out five assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a comfortable 119-103 win over the visiting Charlotte Hornets.

Jayson Tatum added 17 points to pace four other Celtics in double figures with the hosts leading by as many as 30 points in the third quarter.

After a slow start to the season, Boston have worked their way to fifth in the eastern conference with a 19-13 record.

Myles Turner had 18 points and 17 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers beat the sluggish Washington Wizards 105-89.

The Atlanta Hawks beat the Detroit Pistons 98-95 with 41-year-old Vince Carter coming off the bench to score a game-high and season-high 18 points.

The Hawks won their third straight and improved to 9-23 while the Pistons have dropped to 15-16 and eighth in the east after just two wins in their past 10 games.

Sacramento Kings rallied from 10 points down at three-quarter time to defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 122-117 and maintain their place in the top eight of the western conference.

Miami Heat routed the Orlando Magic 115-91 to make it five wins in a row while th Brooklyn Nets defeated the Phoenix Suns 111-103.

Lauri Markkanen led the Chicago Bulls to consecutive wins for the first time this season with 31 points in their 112-92 victory at the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Andrew Wiggins hit the go-ahead layup with 14 seconds remaining to help the Minnesota Timberwolves defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 114-112.
